Builder & Restricted Builder Assessments
Blue Dog Training can provide assessment services for people wishing to obtain the necessary technical qualifications for low rise builder (Qld) builder (NSW) and restricted builder licence classes.
We are able to assist people throughout Australia, Tasmania and New Zealand with the advancement of their career pathway obtaining the necessary technical qualifications for a builder's licence.
The assessment process incorporates recognising prior qualifications and highlighting the necessary evidence one needs to supply to provide competency across the range of modules required to obtain a Certificate IV outcome.
This may involve producing documentation from a recent substantial building project, answering relevant industry related questions and site visits.
This assessment process is done at home. If enough evidence is provided, you may not have to attend any off-site courses to fill the necessary training gaps highlighted by the assessment process.
The assessment pathway is a flexible alternative pathway towards obtaining the necessary qualifications for your builder's licence.
Owing to this self-paced assessment model, it is up to you how long the assessment will take. On average, we suggest it should be completed within a six month period.
You will be required to supply references from previous employers supporting your relevant industry experience.
In Queensland, one must provide at least two years on site supervisory experience if you hold a carpentry or bricklaying qualification. Those who fall outside this category must provide at least 48 months supervisory experience.
In NSW, one must provide the mandatory industry experience as outlined by the NSW Dept of Fair Trading.
A person may not necessarily have completed a trade to meet that State's licensing Body's requirements to obtain a builder's licence. We treat each application on an individual needs basis.
You will be helped by your assessor throughout the assessment process. The Certificate IV assessment qualification is a nationally accepted qualification.
You can commence this assessment pathway at any time throughout the year. On successful completion, you will receive a full or partial qualification from the BCGBC 40106 Certificate Four in Building and Construction (Building) training package.
